This week we had a judging panel of 4 people (BIG thanks to Mom, Grandma, Kristi and Ben for tasting)- and we are proud to report that we did not disappoint them with this week's cake. The average score that this week cake received was 4.25 stars.
We agree with our judges, and think the cake is super tasty, but it still doesn't quite reach the 5 star rating that our very first cake got :)
Smart things we did this time:
Tossed the chocolate chips in 1 tablespoon of flour so they would not sink like lead in our cake batter. (Good news- it worked fantastically)
Used super cute mini-bundt pans, which made for delicious and adorable little cakes
Used room temperature eggs and butter
** In other news- Strawberry season is upon us, which means that we WILL be baking the Strawberry Country Cake this week with (drumroll please....) FRESH OREGON STRAWBERRIES! We are excited and hope that you are too :)
